Barcode scanner does what its name says - scans barcodes. It is just another input device (you may think about it as a keyboard with reading capabilities so that you wouldn't have to type all these numbers).

So, it doesn't really matter which database and Developer Suite you use to code your application. You may scan barcodes into Notepad if you wish.

As this device sues MS Windows CE, one way would be installing Oracle Lite on PDA and write the application using Visual Basic (no, you can not install and run Oracle Forms on this PDA (as far as I can tell)). Scanned barcodes will be stored into an Oracle Lite table. The simplest way to synchronize data between PDA and your "main" Oracle database is probably Active Sync.

@LF,

I think this question should be in the 'General' forum. You want to move it?

It appears that this question (actually, answer I can provide) has nothing to do with Forms (although owais_baba hoped it might). I agree; moving it to General forum.
