Hi,

I am new to Data Guard. Would like to know if the Physical and Standby Database reside on the same machine and same operating system.

I have installed Oracle 9i on Windows XP in NOARCHIVELOG mode. Steps to create the same would be helpful.

Started with the documentation but would be helpful if same is available apart from the oracle documentation.

http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96653/toc.htm

Thanks,
Priya.

What is the problem with Oracle documentation?
Does not it contain a step by step explaination?

Regards
Michel

Hi,

As mentioned the documentation is being reffered. But In case some document on Data Guard on the same machine installation if some one like to share would be helpful.

It might help others also to search and find in this forum, rather than every time directed to oracle documentation which every one can refer.

Thanks,
Priya.

Nothing & no one is preventing you from posting anything you deem appropriate.

Nothing is impossible for the person who does NOT have to do it!

Hi,

According to yr Notes,
The First Step is to issue : alter database force logging:

But in Oracle 9i , this statement can't be used.

what should i do now.

Thanks
Roshan.
