In the Oracle Replication Services documentation it states that LONG
datatypes are not supported as target columns. I need to set up
replication between two sites with a database that contains many tables
with LONG columns. What are my options short of redefining the tables?

I once had a server which served as a report server in lieu of using the OLTP database during the day. One of the tables which needed populating contained a long column and the end-users needed this for reporting purposes. Because the servers were both local to the site and not replicated, we wrote a script which used the 'copy' command to populate the table with the long columns.
