Hi
im configuring dataguard

last week i took the cold backup and copied that to standby server.
today i took the trace of standby control file and after successful mount, when i tried to recover the standby database it is throwing the following error

SQL> recover standby database
ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'E:\ORACLE\PRODDATA\SYSTEM01.DBF'
ORA-01122: database file 1 failed verification check
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'E:\ORACLE\PRODDATA\SYSTEM01.DBF'
ORA-01206: file is not part of this database - wrong database id

i checked the DBID it is same for prod & Standby

is this error coming because of old backup & recent standby control file?

shall i have to take the cold backup again?

how to resolve
please advice

The error is that the file comes from another database backup.
How did you check the DBID?

Michel

Hi
ichecked the DBID from v$DATABASE;

i am able to mount the STANDBY DB.

i verified the same in PROD DB.
both the DBID's are same.

Actually i cloned the Prod E-Business Suite to Standby.
i checked whether the clone was successful or not by opening the STANDBY DB.Clone was successful.

so i shut down the application tier and the Database and i configured the same DB for Standby database.

but the backup was of last week Production's database and today i created the standby control file in production and im using that control file for the standby database.

while recovering im getting the above error
