My Oracle server is crashed and only i am able to retrieve the oracle folder in which all the oracle related files are present, kindly tell me how i restore the files on any other machine i have created an Oracle server with the same service name.

Kindly help

Copy them in the same directory.
If you are lucky (that is if your database was not working) you can directly restart the database.

but in my previous setup oracle data & setup files installed on E Drive now i have new server i installed the files in D-Drive because the only location available.

can you tell me the procedure, where i should replace the drive letter i have done this before in init.ora but it doesn't

I did but now unable to login to oracle

let me tell you what i've done so far

1- I installed oracle on D Drive
2- I created the Same SID name as i was using in my previous
3- I replace all the files from the old oradata folder to the newest one

but now unable to connect SQL PLus it gives error
ORA-01033 : ORACLE Initialization or shutdown in progress

i tried to connect through sysdba but unable to connect it gives the same error of INITIALIZATION

What's in your alert.log file?
Copy and paste it.
Generally, copy and paste what you do and see, do not explain.
Use sqlplus.exe in cmd box, correctly set ORACLE_SID and PATH to contain %ORACLE_HOME%\BIN.

Before replacing the old oradata folder to newely installed oracle i have made a backup of the oradata, then i stop the oracle service and copy the backup to the oradata folder now its connected to oracle but how i replace the old oradata folder and recover my databases kindly guide me.

there is not alert.log file found in the system

Thanks Michel.

I just want to recover my old databases which i have in oradata directory, what step i've to taken to retrieve my data.
I have created the SAME SID on a new machine
I have backup of all old Oracle files.

Kindly guide me what steps i have to taken?
If i copy the older oradata folder to new server's oracle oradata folder.
then i am unable to log on sql and database initialization message appears.

but please help me i need to recover my data..

please i'll explain you everything

i have old oracle folder in which 3 folders are found

- Admin
- Ora81
- Oradata

i copied oradata folder to the new installed oradata folder then a message popups that oracle initialization or shut down in progress and i am unable to connect with sys user, then i replace all the oradata files (which i've been backup before replacing) then i am able to login.. now i am at the start of the place kindly tell me the steps which folder i must have to copied and which not ... before copying i stop the oracle service.

Kindly help
