Hi

Which cases do we recover from SQL?
E.g.

recover automatic database until time 'yyyy-mm-dd:hh24:mi:ss' using backup controlfile;

Since we can do the Incomplete recovery even from RMAN what difference does recovery from SQL makes?

Regards,
OraKaran

No difference (although we encountered some weird cases, RMAN bug, where RMAN was unable to do it when SQL*Plus did).
Note that SQL*Plus comes far before RMAN existed, so why remove a feature from it because another product comes into play?

Regards
Michel
