Hi,

I am trying to install and create an oracle 11gR2 database on windows 7 platform. Do we need to run exceed software while we create the database? I heard that we need exceed for unix and unix based servers. But do we need it for windows OS? While installing the oracle software, the DBCA could not startup. It didnt give any error, but it couldn't startup. I am unable to download exceed software in my office machine due to security reasons. Is there any other alternative so that I could complete the oracle installation along with creating the database successfully?

which Windows 7 Edition?
OUI must inter-operate with some X-Windows software.

It is windows 7 Enterprise Edition service pack 1. I am uninstalling oracle so that i can again do the installation. I removed the necessary files, but still in startup menu, under "all programs", I see oracle files. How do i remove them?

The OUI screenshot shows 100% the oracle installation is complete. But it is not starting the DBCA. Please let me know how to proceed further from here. The dialog box says "Starting 'Oracle Database Configuration Assistant'".

I gave dbca in the command prompt as you said, the DBCA dialog box opened in order to create the database.

Meanwhile,

the oracle database configuration assistant failed. Is there any way that i can copy paste the screenshot here?

On Windows dbca (or any Oracle tools) does NOT use X. Why should it, Windows is already graphic.

Later I realised that windows doesnt need xming or any other x terminal software. I got these errors because I downloaded only the first zip folder and got the setup file. I just ran the setup.exe file. That's why the installation gave lot of errors. I apologize.
