40357 Invalid string in example record. Query not issued. [message #644155]

in Oracle Developer 10g following error occured when i am going to execute query at insertion time no issue
i am using this format mask FMX999"-"999999 and it Produces following result in insertion mode CP10-000001 but when i remove format mask than query execute successfully

When trying to perform query, did you enter some value into that item? If so, how did you do it? Did you follow format you specified for that item?

What is the data type of the ITEM you have the format mask set on?

Well, I'm still not clear on what your Form is and isn't doing. Can you be more clear on what you are expecting to happen and what is happening and please list any error messages you might be receiving?
