| recovery problem archive is missing [message #74461] |

Hi
i am facing a strange problem,when i am trying to recover the missing
archives i gave this command in standby database.
SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER AUTOMATIC STANDBY DATABASE;
but i got the error actually i restored the whole database cold backup from last week.The missing archive in standby is starting from 40417.
this archive no is 1 year old.Its not with us.
The produciton database is working fine without any problem.
ORA-00279: change 67338122 generated at 10/14/2003 10:26:05 needed for
thread 1
ORA-00289: suggestion : /oradatazak2/oradata/oraarch/1_23776.arc
ORA-00280: change 67338122 for thread 1 is in sequence #23776
ORA-00278: log file '/oradatazak2/oradata/oraarch/1_23776.arc' no
longer needed
for this recovery
ORA-00308: cannot open archived log
'/oradatazak2/oradata/oraarch/1_23776.arc'
ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory
i checked the alert log this error is comming for a specific datafile datafile 101.if i replace the datafile from another backup,wheter it will solve the issue how to overcome this problem
