Hi

In coming months we have a plan to migrate Oracle 9i rel2 9.2.0.5.0 from HP to SUN 5.7 in completely new box,
it's a 24/7 DB, but still 12 hours downtime is accepted for maintenace.

from Database point of view, what are the things to be kept in mind, what are the steps to be followed,
what is the smooth way so that it goes without any error.
Ofcourse we will do first on Development but still want hear from you experts so that we can go smoothly.

What is the best way to carry Data, Export/Import or any other feature.

Your suggestions is requested.

Thanks

Export/import or backup/restore should do it. However, you need to develop your own plan (and test it) before attempting it on the production database.
