Hi all,

I need help in installing oracle critical patches for oracle version 9.2.0.5. I have searched the internet for this version but it seems that my search is in vain.

After installing the critical patch that I managed to find, the installation was unsuccessful. This has caused my oracle db not to start up properly.

I had no choice but to copy the oracle folder from another pc to my pc. I have pasted the appropriate folders to my oracle folder. This caused another problem mentioned in the attachment.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!!!

Most people here (like me) can't and won't download *.doc documents from the internet because of firewall restrictions.

If it's text in there post the text, if it's an screenshot attach the image in JPG or PNG format.

But my suspicion is that now the oracle installation on the file system is now completely out of synch with the data in the registry, and one way resolving that would be a re-install of oracle, and then a re-creation of the databases with the database files you have.

I tried to reinstall oracle but it asked me to stop all services in Windows XP which some cannot be stopped. Hence, cannot complete with the installation.

Please help.!!!

Will it solve the problem by upgrading the oracle DB to the latest version of oracle 9.2.0.8?

By the way, what is the latest version of oracle?

For Oracle 9i, it is version 9.2.0.8 right? I am not using oracle 10g.

Will installing 9.2.0.8 solve this problem?
